"We hired Phil Howard and Howard Construction in the spring of 2010 to completely renovate our backyard and master bath.
As the project began, we decided to hire a landscaping architect, who developed a beautiful, but involved, plan for our yard, which included decks, concrete work, and pergolas. Given the evolving nature of the project, there were some schedule changes and challenges, but Phil kept the work going. As the yard was being completed, we made the decision to have Phil completely remodel our master bath, removing a wall and closet. The decision to have Phil do the work on the bath was based entirely on the high level of quality of the work that he and his crew did on the yard.
We have since had Phil back this fall to do some minor remodel work in the house, and would use him again."

"We want to thank Philip Howard of Howard Construction and his crew for a wonderful remodel job on our home. My husband and I started the project with just baseboards, crown moldings, window casings and interior painting. But as we got into issues of our newly purchased “old home,” we knew bathrooms would need updating, windows replaced and doors installed. Phil and his crew quickly and professionally completed the basics and came back for the second phase of our remodel.
They started on our smaller bathroom and found extensive dry rot in the floor. They had to make extensive framing repairs before installing the sheetrock, tile and textures. This unexpected damage did not throw our schedule off- Phil came through to finish up the bathroom in time for our out-of-town guests. Thanks again to Phil and Howard Construction for making a disruptive remodel smooth and easy for us, as owners who lived in the house through it all!"

"We had Howard Construction as our contractor for a major renovation project for our B&B this summer, which included 5 (!!!) bathrooms, plumbing, electrical, tearing down walls, putting up new walls, installing header beams, and so on. Phil Howard and his crew really did an outstanding job with everything. With the building being over 136 years old, there were more than a few surprises, all of which were handled professionally and timely by Phil and his team. Two of his journeymen who spent the most time on our job, Joe and Jorge, were great to work with. All of his subs were great too, and we'd definitely recommend Howard Construction to anyone looking to complete a project, large or small. Oh, and they are also great to work with on the administrative side with timely, accurate, and detailed invoices at each stage of the project, and that really made the process easier."

"Having worked with many contractors over the years, I can recommend Philip Howard with confidence. We started out building an addition and new garage. Impressed by his attention to quality AND respect for our budget, we moved on to do a while-house renovation, including a new kitchen, hardwood floors, extensive electrical work, plumbing, an outdoor kitchen, and some exterior structures. He also redid the roof and got an excellent person to resurface our pool deck.
What really sets him apart, in my opinion, is that he was on our side as the client the whole time. With many contractors, I have the feeling there is a conflict of interest because really what they want to do is give their subs lots of billable hours. Not so with Howard Construction. He was willing to change out subs, go back and renegotiate a price or a redo, whatever is necessary to make his clients happy.
He is also an excellent communicator, checking in very regularly with me as our project progressed. Highly recommend!"

I think one of the most commendable qualities was Philip's immaculate communication prior to, during, and even after the project.
